As mothers, we always want our little girls to look their best. I love putting
my little girl’s hair up in ponytails and braids, and then finishing it with a pretty
bow or clip. It can be difficult finding something to match her clothing. Now

My name is Gussie, and I am the mother of a beautiful 4 year old girl named
Madelynne. I never thought that I would be designing hair accessories, or
anything for that matter, to sell online! My sister-in-law Tyann, who owns
Little Elephant Company, came to me one day with an idea. She said, “I was
thinking about adding hair accessories to my product line. What do you think
about designing them for me?”
Well, since she has three boys, I knew she would need help in the "girly hair
things" category! I have always loved crafting. I started out painting ceramics as a child, and when children became a
part of my life, I started scrapbooking. As many scrapbookers know, the hobby of scrapbooking is like a gateway hobby
into other paper crafts. It wasn’t long before I started making cards and other crafts from paper.
Having worked with ribbons and buttons on my paper crafts, I thought that those techniques would carry over nicely to
hair bows, barrettes, clips, etc. I have a lot of fun coming up with new designs and color combinations, and of course I
have to shop the children’s clothing stores in order to stay up on the color trends!
